LOSS 10K ROAD RACE

Overview: An accurately measured 10k course run under UKA rules, the first ever Leigh-on-Sea Striders 10k is open to all club, fun and charity runners aged 16 and over. The undulating course takes runners out from the area of Leigh Marshes and Two Tree Island nature reserve before climbing up to and along marine parade where runners and spectators will be able to enjoy the spectacular view out across the Thames Estuary and into Kent. The race then progresses through Leigh and Chalkwell before returning along the costal towpath via the cobbled streets at the heart of old Leigh itself. The final push for the finish guides runners past the famous Cockle Sheds and back towards Leigh Marshes where runners can collect their medals and enjoy a free post run massage.
Location: Leigh Marshes / Two Tree Island is located behind Leigh-on-Sea rail station.

The Essex Air Ambulance was launched in 1998 to serve the people of Essex.
The aircraft carries a highly skilled crew
of Doctors and Paramedics and sophisticated life-saving equipment to a
patient within the first few vital minutes of an emergency.
The Air Ambulance has flown over 10,000 missions.
It costs around £150,000 per month to keep the helicopter flying.
The Charity receives no National Lottery funding; relying upon the generous
people of Essex to keep the aircraft flying.
